Virginia

I come from a small town in Cavan called Virginia. Its not that exciting of a place but not really that boring either I liked the fact it used to be quite small but now it has become a much bigger town. Virginia sits right on the Cavan/Meath border and is only an hour from Dubli it basically has become a commuter town to Dublin.

But, Virginia is steeped i history. It originally wws a planter town and was built in thwe late 1600s as halfway point to Dublin. Apart from this Virginia ois situated on the shores of Lough Ramor which itself is a major part of the towns history. It was once a crannog a island like dwelling for ancient Ireland. Lough Ramor provides some of the best water sports in Cavan and is a prime location for fishermen from all over, the lake itself is 9 miles long and is the second biggest lake in the county.

Beside the lake is placed a vast woodland situated beside tge local golf course and is part of the headfort estate. This vast woodland provides walks for tha locals and visitors a like.

But more recently the town has embarked on having the pumpkin festival in which the competiton for the largest pumpkin in Ireland is held. This year was the second annual pumpkin festival and drew in large crowds from all over. It was held on the bankholiday weekend in October last. But the best fun had to be the fancy dress on the subday night when the town was packed and the customs were brilliant. The guy who won dressed up as the shower from the karate kid but i think the buy who went as the eurubix cube shoudve won. Re-living childhood memories

I cant believe it my friend turned up at our house on monday night with one of the best dvds ever made "The best of the Power Rangers". I could not believe it we spent all night re-living our favourite childhood programme mighty morphin power rangers. It was brilliant watching our favourite superheros in action once again . The acting was amazing I cant believe how badly it was done it really looked like it was dubbed, but it still was brilliant.

But the most amazing part iof the dvd was the morphing sequence when each power ranger morphed into their respesctive outfit, (sabertoothtiger!).

But then to top that all off we had the episode which included all 10 of the red rangers including the greatest of them all Tommy!

This is possibly the best episode ever made but I will not give it away let me just say that it is very cool!

I cant wait to go home now on friday nite and look up all my old power rangers stuff in the attic and relilve some more childhood meomories! Hopefully ill be able to find my old thundercats stuff too!!!!

virtual commuinities

Its so annoying that we all feel the need to belong to a online commuinity. For instance I before talked about my loathing of bebeo and how it was destracting me from doing anything constructive and is doing so at this very moment. But worst of all has to be facebook I find it totally addictive, all I wana do is go on facebook and chat to my friends about there videos and pictures of the past weekends happenings. They drive me crazy because you think you have just been online for a few minutes when instead you have just wasted an hour of your life talking to people you dont know about stupid and irrelevant things.

But the only upside to bebo or any of the other online families I belong to is the fact that I get the chance to chat with my friends back at home something which I dont get do very often anymore as they all live far away in the distant land of Cavan. Bebo, myspace and feacebook offer a free way for me to chat with my friends at any time because ones money is all going on rent and I cannot not afford to buy phone credit. So for people living away from home virtual commuinitiess offer a free way of commuinication and to many accross the world too. But I still maintain today that bebo is really annoying.

pornography on the internet

Firstly the internet was set up to provide information to those who needed it but quickly became a tool for internet pornography. It is crazy how today you can`t type in certain words without been bombarded with sites that you really do not want to know about nor access. The porn industry itself has become the third largest industry in the world and it has become the largest on the internet. Site not are only set up to accomadate videos but also tie in with tv also. I suppose for those that dont want to admit that they watch porn it is an easy wwy for them to access it withput anyone finding out, well thats if their intelligent enough to delete their internet history after searching for whatever their into online.

Personally i think its yes disgusting but it seems to be a great way of making money. I thibk il have to block my bebo page cause im constantly been bombarded with comments or messagges in my mail to go and check out some girl on her web cam eh hello which 1. toally headwrecking and 2. just plain disgusting. So really you dont have to go looking for anything it just seems to be there and within easy access of eveyone.

Movies

I love all types of movies but horrors are my passion! I spent my childhood years being educated about the best films around! My favourite horror movie is not the most the obvious but it is a fantastic film, "The people under the stairs", what a movie it is just fantasic! That little kid is just my hero if I were a child again I wana be just like him! Another classic "The shinning", this has the the undisputed best horror ever. The look the Jack Nicolson does in the film is just way too freaky. The film itself is not only fantastic in that it scares the shit out of you but it has a brilliant script well long story short its brillant.

I am also a huge Nightmare on elm street fan I own all 7 films on dvd and watch them all the time! But the first film will always remain the coolest!

I saw Halloween last week for the first time but wasnt that impressed mike myers is just not that scary id give it a 6!

But the worst most disgusting film I ever seen was the film "teeth" oh my god its definently not for the faint hearted but warch it , it gets really funny after a while but I wont say any more on the film except EWWWW!

I just wana say one more thing that is that they dont make horror movies like they use to! all the greatest horror flicks come from the 70s and 80s with films like the exorcist and the texas chainsaw masacare! Remakes are always a bad idea but the hills have eyes was exceptable and dawn of the dead was probably better than the original! But all the latest films have all being pretty crap and a waste of my money going to see them. As I said the last fairly recent and descent horror movie I saw was teeth!

Maybe I should start a petition to bring back good old scary movies with the really crap blood and really bad special affects!

Christmas shopping!

Oh yes its my favourite time of year everybody is getting ready for christmas and yes it means that my mammy is going to bring me xmas shopping. But first I have to get her a present but I have all that picked out ah I can say it shes not going read this im going to get her one of the best films ever "big fish", starring Ewan Mc Gregor its brilliant.

But in 2 weeks I get to go to the city and ao shopping to get new clothes, a new phone and presents for my brother and friends but il just get everybody xmas socks from Pennys afterall I am from Cavan!

I think il spend most of my shopping time deboted to myself afterall I need a little retail thearpy afterall I have been living on noodles for the past 3 months as one could not afford nice food let alone clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully il get onto Grafton Street and get to see what all those posh nonses (D4s) are getting daddy to buy them for xmas besides the brand new uggs sitting under the tree! And watch guys called Bryan who play rugby and spell there names with a y and only drink heniken and wkd and say like every second word and psha! It adds to the whole expierience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And just maybe I will get to to go see sants and tell him that all I want for xmas is a wii! Because I cant afford one and probably not be able to get one unless I dont spend my xmas present money MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM what a dilema! Ah im not that mean!

bebo

I cant do my blog because everytime I go to I end up writing comments on bebo, its like a curse or something! I cant stand that it is like a must to be part of social networking site for someone our age ! I want to do old cliche and breakfree but I am still hesitant as whather to delete my bebo, my-space and facebook pages! How will I talk to my friends I have no money to buy credit let alone put credit in my phone!

Thats it im deleting it as again I just went onto my page!

Ah im going to be realistic the creators of bebo are clever I cant co it I cant delete my BEBO page dam them!
